The Batam Hills Golf Resort located to the west of Batam Island  was part of the Waterfront City development that includes facilities like Waterfront housing, marina club, campsite and cable skiing. The golf resort has devoted 80 hectares to its 18 hole championship golf course designed by Max Wexler, it is designed to challenge the needs and expectations of both low handicapped golfers as well as high handicapped players.

With Bermuda grass being favoured for both fairways & greens there are various different challenges all round the 6145 meter course including sloping fairways, water hazards, strategically placed bunkers and dog legs. The front 9 turns right around the clubhouse and brings you through a genuine jungle environment it provides holes with rolling and tree-lined fairways. The back 9 located in front and to the left of the clubhouse, is open and less hilly offering wide fairways and exciting challenges.

The clubhouse (currently under complete renovation Feb 2008) provides panoramic views over the course has a picnic and barbecue area, karaoke lounge, saunas, squash and tennis courts, jungle and jogging treks and a swimming pool.

Proshop - offering a limited selection golf equipment and accessories.
Swimming pool - just relax when you want. (under renovation)
Practice putting green - practice till your hearts content.
Driving range - hit a few balls prior to starting.
Changing rooms - good facilities with showers, towels, lockers etc all in the basic price. (under renovation)
Restaurant - 1 restaurant offering Eastern & Western cuisine. (under renovation)
Bars - 1 bar on the lobby terrace.
Massage rooms - traditional massage is available for all. (under renovation)
Club rental - available.

Getting there:
Being the furthest west access from the Holiday Inn at Waterfront City will take just over 10 minutes by car - from Nagoya some 30minutes or 50 minutes from the Nongsa area.

Note: The course had experienced a certain degree of poor maintenance with its previous owners however currently (Feb 2008 & under new ownership) the course & environs are undergoing a major refurbishment programme, the course will remain open and every effort has been made to ensure your golf is not affected.
