Harbour Bay Ferry Terminal sits on Batam's north coast, just five minutes by Grab from Nagoya Hill Shopping Mall — the most convenient arrival point for shopping-focused weekend trips. Horizon Fast Ferry is the sole operator on this route, which means consistent quality and no overcrowding from competing passengers.

The terminal itself is modern and well-maintained. From Harbour Bay, Grab and taxis are available immediately outside the arrivals hall. The short ride to Nagoya Hill costs approximately IDR 15,000–25,000 (SGD 1–2). Batam Centre, Waterfront City and Nongsa are all accessible from this terminal with a slightly longer journey.

Seating Classes

Economy class offers air-conditioned seating on the main deck with TVs and toilets — from SGD 65. Business class provides upper-deck leather seats, complimentary water and access to a pre-boarding lounge at HarbourFront, from approximately SGD 75–80 (verify current price on the Horizon website or 12Go). The VIP Cabin accommodates up to four passengers in a private cabin with reclining seats and a 40-inch TV, from approximately SGD 130 or above.

Booking Tips

Economy walk-in tickets are generally available for most sailings, but Business and VIP classes sell out quickly on Friday evenings and Saturday mornings. Book at least one week ahead for premium classes on peak departures. Arrive 45–60 minutes before departure; check-in closes 45 minutes before sailing and immigration takes an additional 15 minutes.

Return Journey

Book your return sailing when you purchase the outbound ticket to avoid flexibility issues with hotel checkout. Sunday evening return slots (the 19:15 and 20:30 WIB departures) sell out on long weekends. The vessel is heavily air-conditioned — bring a light jacket regardless of the season.
